About us
An independent publication about speaking English — no paid placements, no affiliate course rankings, nothing for sale.
We publish guides about speaking English: fluency basics, pronunciation, everyday conversation, practice routines, and English for work and exams. Every guide is researched and written by our editorial team — people who teach English and have learned a second language themselves — reviewed on a schedule, and published with the date of its last review, including when the review changed nothing.
How we pay for it. We build websites for language schools, tutors and course platforms. That work is completely separate from the editorial side: a client cannot be recommended more favourably, and no client is named in a guide.
What that means for the guides. No school, app, course or teacher can buy a mention, a ranking or a link. Where a guide recommends a method, it is because the evidence and classroom experience for it fit the case being described. Where we have a commercial relationship with something we discuss, the guide says so in the text.
What we do not do. We do not sell courses, we do not run affiliate links to apps, and we do not accept free subscriptions in exchange for coverage.
This is not a qualification. Our guides describe general practice for learning to speak. They are not a placement test, and nothing here certifies your level. If you need an official level for a visa, a university or an employer, that requires a real assessment.
Corrections. If something here is wrong or out of date, write to us and we will fix it and re-date the guide. Corrections are made in the text, not quietly.
